The Jean Paul Ohadi scholarships were established by the Jean Paul Ohadi Foundation in memory of Jean Paul, who passed away in 1998. He was a 19 year old boy who suffered from Bipolar disorder and was also harassed because of society’s prejudice against his sexual orientation. The JPO Foundation, founded by his mother, Cynthia Drey, was formed to help organizations aid in the treatment, education, support and understanding of these issues. Each year the PFLAG Deerfield Chapter has helped in the selection of young people who have submitted evidence of their academic achievement and their involvement in the LGBTQ community. We are hoping that your school has such individuals that would qualify and be interested.
NOTE: The window for getting your scholarship applications in is February 1, 2025 to April 1, 2025. If mailing them in, they must be postmarked by April 1, 2025. E-mails must arrive by April 1, 2025.

Reference letters and transcripts can be mailed.
